Snorkeling the reef pools at Cahuita

The reef pools at Cahuita are where many guests first see Caribbean fish without a boat. Water stays calmer inside the protected strip, and the pools feel like rooms opened in the reef.
Bring mask and fins if you have them, or rent in town. Sunscreen should be reef safe, and touching coral is never worth a photo.
Go early for clearer water and fewer people. A half day is enough for a first visit, with time to walk the trail before or after the swim.
Watch the tide and ask locally about conditions. Some days the pools shine. Some days wind makes another beach the better choice.
Return through the garden roads at Blessed House with salt still in your hair. That is a good Cahuita day.
