Kayaking the shoreline from a new angle

Kayaking changes the Caribbean from a beach walk into a water path. From a sit on kayak you see reefs, river mouths, and the line of palms the way fishers see them. You can paddle near Puerto Viejo, Punta Uva, Playa Chiquita, or Manzanillo.
For a longer outing, join a guided trip into Cahuita National Park. Sessions usually last 2 to 4 hours, and Blessed House can help you match the water to your comfort.
Calm mornings are kinder than windy afternoons. If you have not paddled in a while, start close to shore. The views are still new, and the swim back is shorter if you tip.
A guided park paddle adds wildlife and a person who knows where the reef sits. That is worth it if you want more than a workout. Go with a group that keeps the same pace.
Bring a dry bag for phones and a shirt that can get wet. Tell us if you want quiet water or a longer push. We would rather send you to the right beach than to the famous one.
